Hey, I'm Sophia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually evolved into a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many international moves, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
Those initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and fresh expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning were part of it. Gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Islet Saffron Foundry
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't Do)
This site is:
- Practical experience from residing in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sophia
